Jon! good stuff man. You're really taking off! I really like the sketch of this girl. I think the colored ones look good too, maybe it's the brown bg that's botherin me.You might want to try a blue/grey bg, or somethin else just to make her stand out a bit more. She looks too good to disappear like that.
